ORACLE, PARTNERS UNVEIL NETWORK COMPUTER PLATFORM.

Abstract:

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A., 1996 MAY 21 (NB) -- The Network Computer (NC) will help to move PC communications in the direction of a "telephone" model, said Oracle CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Larry Ellison, in a press teleconference held by Oracle, IBM, Sun, Apple, and Netscape to unveil a jointly developed NC reference platform. Oracle separately announced a new subsidiary called Network Computer Inc., plus a commercial implementation of the reference platform which has been licensed by 30 hardware and software vendors.
